So what's different about Sievert torch-type soldering irons? The internal, "hidden" flame which heats up the hollow soldering copper tip from the inside. This is an advantage in windy areas when you are soldering outside, especially up high on a building. This type of soldering tool is also a great option if you are near flammable materials, as the flame is not open.
